Michael Allen's "New Model of Writing" theory is interesting. I am an unwitting devotee. After retiring early from a career in newspapers, I was determined to write my way to the top of the fiction charts. For two years I poured my heart and soul into it. A funny thing happened, however, on the way to the slush pile.
The early morning become mine. All mine. I started writing for myself, not for agents, editors or the flavor-of-the-week market. I may post something on the internet. I may not. I write because of who I am, not because of what I want to accomplish. I am satisfied.
