Richard Booth's £1 million item

The mystery is revealed.

Back in September, I mentioned overhearing the eminent bookseller Richard Booth telling some young lady about an item he was asking £1 million for. But I didn't know what it was. Now, thanks to Anna Cooper, of Richard Booth's bookshop, I do.

Mr Booth has recently acquired an enormous collection of books, photographs, video and audio tapes, drawings, dance libraries, fine 19th century bindings, costumes, head-dresses, masks, manuscripts etc of one of India's greatest classical dancers, Ram Gopal. He is hoping to display it in Hay Castle for six months (from December) before putting the collection up for sale.

Well, it sometimes takes a while, but we get there in the end.
