Tao for now
Ron Hogan has a comment on the ebooks business. In the course of it he mentions his own 'experiment with the Tao Te Ching', which turns out to be really interesting. It should keep you going for the weekend, if not for life.

My compliments to Mr. Hogan on what appears to be a fine piece of work. Quite beautiful, in fact. "Insiders" like Amato miss something important that's going on, though I don't know what it is either. Doors are opening that I suspect are resented in some quarters, and the next few years we will see surprising things. To borrow a line from Lao Tzu, "You can go far if you don't have anything to carry."
First time I've printed out an e-book. What a marvelous translation and worthy piece of work--worth many readings. I heartily congratulate Ron Hogan and hope he gets the recognition he deserves.

Search the GOB
A 'search this blog' facility is available at the top left of the page. Unfortunately, it doesn't work very well. For a quick and dirty search, it might do. The only really satisfactory way to find anything on this blog is go to the main Google search page, enter the terms you wish to search for (using the usual double inverted commas around complete phrases, names, et cetera), and then type, without spaces, the word site, colon, and URL of the blog, without the www. and without spaces. This procedure is the one that I use when the built-in search device tells me that I haven't written about something when I know damn well that I have.
